If you’ve got kids, they can be one of the most powerful tools in your arsenal when submitting to videos contests. Put ‘em to work! Besides featuring their cute antics in regular contests, you can search out particularly kid/family-friendly topics by viewing the ‘kids’ tag on OVC.

So gather your youngsters and get clickin’!

Did you know that ‘Students’ is one of the most popular tags on OVC? There are a lot of video contests out there that are just targeting students (currently 18 contests on OVC have this tag).

All the way from elementary students to college-age scholars, or even if you work for a school, you should check out this tag. Get clickin’!

Thanks to all the OVCers from around the world who entered this month’s giveaway for a Pico Flex Table Dolly! Even though the winner was randomly selected, we were blown away by the creative responses you left in the comment section for this giveaway. From poems to pleas to script/shot ideas, we were thoroughly entertained!

And without further ado, the winner of this month’s giveaway is…

Jon-Paul from North Carolina! Jon-Paul has spent most of his adult life around video and photography equipment, with a professional concentration in news/photojournalism.  But, he’s been dabbling in cinematography, post-production and story telling in his off time over the past couple of years. We’re sure the table dolly will be a great addition to his arsenal. In fact, Jon-Paul already has a shot in mind. Here’s the comment he left on the giveaway page:

With the Pico Flex Table Dolly System, I plan to get really creative shots, both in real-time and in time lapse. I plan to attach a wind-up cook timer to the dolly with a chop stick attached, and as the clock winds down, the stick will very slowly propel the dolly across the surface, getting a really neat moving time-lapse shot of whatever scene I’m shooting. It’s hard to describe, but I know it would work beautifully if the dolly moves as smoothly as the website says.
